This story exposed how interfaith marriages in the Indian province of Kerala were being polarised by right-wing Hindu groups. In a clear breach of privacy, these groups lifted the marriage applications of such interfaith couples, which were freely available on the government website. In coordinated attacks, these groups used these applications to bully and threaten such couples. After my story was published, the Kerala government withdrew its policy to publish the marriage applications on its website.
